
Making Your PET Blowing Lamps Actually Work (Without the OEM Headache)
Most PET blowing machines use shortwave infrared lamps to get those preforms soft and ready. We build our lamps to slide right into Krones machines and other big-name brands. Why? Because physics doesn’t care about the logo on the side of your machine. Heat is heat. Let’s talk specs. To get the kind of heat density you need for high-speed production, we lean on specific voltage and wattage combos. You’ll see a lot of 400V/2500W setups. It’s a tight footprint, but it pumps out an incredible amount of thermal energy. This is how you get your preform to that glass transition temperature in a heartbeat. One quick tip: check your cooling blowers. If they aren’t up to the task, all that ambient heat will just cook your reflectors and kill your lamps way too soon. What’s actually inside the tube? We use high-purity quartz glass and fill it with halogen gas. This isn’t just for show. The halogen cycle keeps tungsten from clouding up the glass, so your light stays bright and consistent for thousands of hours. On the electrical side, we stick to R7s or Sk15 connectors. They’re the gold standard for a reason. They fit tight and keep resistance low, which means you won’t have to deal with the nightmare of sockets burning out under a heavy load. Getting them into your line Our lamps fit about 95% of the blow molding gear out there because we’re obsessive about the measurements. Whether you’re running a Krones Contiform or something similar, the length and pin spacing are spot on. You won’t need to mess with your wiring or bend any brackets. Plus, we keep these in stock so you aren’t stuck waiting weeks for a “factory” part to ship. Just swap the old tube out, tweak your heating zones, and you’re back in business.
