We built this 230V, 1500W infrared lamp with one clear goal: to fit right into Sidel machines and Husky HyPET high-speed systems. The whole point is simple—give your PET preforms a stronger, more focused heat hit, so the heating keeps up with the pace without scorching the surface.
The Power Behind the Performance
Let’s talk numbers, but keep it real. It’s a 230V, 1500W lamp. That means it plugs cleanly into standard plant power, and the wattage packs serious heat into a compact size. That kind of output is what you need to keep up with constant PET heating cycles. The payoff is a steady, predictable heat curve, so your preform temperature stays consistent—even during those long, grind-it-out runs. Because on a high-speed line, weak heating hurts. If the lamp can’t deliver energy fast enough, the machine starts making compromises. You end up with surface overheating, longer dwell times, or worse—you have to slow down. This 1500W package is sized to deliver the heat density your line needs, so the machine can stay in its sweet spot instead of fighting for it.
What It’s Made Of
We built this with shortwave infrared technology, using a halogen element inside a quartz envelope. Quartz is tough—it handles rapid temperature swings and stays steady even with all the airflow and vibration inside a blow-molding heating station. And the halogen cycle keeps the filament stable over time, which helps the lamp deliver repeatable performance, run after run. And the connector choice? It matters when you’re on the shop floor. We went with an R7s base because it gives you a solid, tool-friendly connection. It installs fast, stays aligned, and cuts down on contact resistance—exactly what you want when you’re swapping lamps during a quick changeover.
How It Works for You
On a Husky HyPET system, the preform needs heat fast—and it needs it evenly—so the blow station can keep up with line speed. This lamp is tuned for deep penetration, heating the preform directly instead of wasting energy warming the air around it. That reduces the gap between surface and core temperature, which helps you run faster cycles and cuts down on heating-related quality drift. And if you’re running Sidel-compatible systems, this lamp is designed as a straight drop-in replacement. Wire it up, set the machine parameters, and get back to production. But here’s the reality check: 1500W packs a lot of heat. Make sure your machine’s cooling and airflow are up to spec. If the area around the lamp gets too hot, you can shorten component life and lose heating consistency.
