Introduction
Here’s the deal. We built these PET preform heater lamps to be a simple, plug-and-play upgrade for Sidel blow molding lines. The whole point? To swap out old, tired heaters without having to rewire or rework the machine. Seriously, it’s a straight drop-in. We’ve got you covered, whether you’re running a classic SBO series or the newest Matrix platform.
The Nitty-Gritty
Getting a preform hot, fast and evenly is the name of the game. So we fine-tuned the power density to hit that sweet spot. The lamps are engineered to spread consistent heat across the whole surface of the preform, which means carefully balancing voltage and wattage. We also match the quartz tube’s shape to the exact dimensions of each Sidel machine’s heater bank. The result? Heat gets delivered where it needs to go, with no cold spots. And that’s huge, because it keeps your bottle walls consistent and the material strong.
What It’s Made Of
The quartz envelope has a special coating that focuses the energy into the shortwave infrared band. This means the lamp heats up almost instantly and dumps that energy right where the PET needs it. Inside, the halogen element is built for the long haul, handling the constant grind of industrial production. And the best part? Compatibility. We engineered the lamp to use the standard R7s or Sk15 connectors you’ll find on any Sidel. So you just wire it up the exact same way as the original. No custom brackets, no messing with new harnesses.
Real-World Perks
On the production floor, downtime is the enemy. With our universal design, a burnt-out heater is a five-minute fix, not a multi-hour ordeal. Doesn’t matter how old the machine is or which model you have. The lamp’s high heat density lets you speed up cycle times, which is great. But there’s a trade-off. That extra power puts a bigger load on the machine’s cooling system. You have to make sure your existing cooling can keep up with the extra ambient heat. For teams running plants around the world, this means you can standardize your spare parts. Less complexity. Fewer headaches.
The Honest Truth
Let’s be real. A 400V, 2500W tube throws off a serious amount of heat. That means your machine’s cooling system has to be up to the task. If it’s undersized, the lamp’s performance will start to slip over time. We don’t leave you hanging. We give you clear thermal load data so you can make sure the lamp matches your specific setup. It’s not just about cranking out heat. It’s about managing the whole thermal profile of your machine, from start to finish.
